Bad habits are like a comfortable bed, easy to get into, but hard to get out of.
We are almost at the end of January and I’m wondering how you are doing with your New Years Resolutions and health and wellness goals. Are you still on track to achieving them?
The problem we often face isn’t the lack of wanting to achieve the goal, but the habits that form in our lives which surround the goal. These habits are like a comfortable bed, easy to get into, but hard to get out of.
A good example is if you think about your habits in the morning. Do you have a routine in the shower? What if you tried to change that routine?
Think of how you put your socks or shoes on? Do you put your left foot in first or your right? Everyone has routines and habits and they are automatically built in and therefore also hard to break. Try putting your shoes on in the different order. Think of a routine you have and try and change it. You will see how hard and uncomfortable it feels to break or change the habit.
