Life begins at the end of your comfort zone
Life begins at the end of your comfort zone
Comfort zones are attractive. They are everywhere and infiltrate every aspect of our life. From how we complete items at work, to how we clean our houses, get dressed in the morning or do our weekly shop. To step out of that comfort zone can be unsettling. To try something new for dinner, or step out of a routine can be challenging. When was the last time you tried a different type of coffee at your local coffee shop? You can make changes every day, and they don’t have to be huge. They can be small changes, but each small change over a period of time can make a massive difference over the course of a month, a year, five years. What if you decided to clear one shelf or cupboard a day? Try one new food every week? Order a different drink when out with friends? Start the online learning course you have promised yourself for several years? What if you visited a new area around where you live once a month? You may find new friends are found on that course, new food or drink is enjoyed, and you have fun at the new place you visited. Maybe these small changes, added up will mean your life dramatically changes over a year. Where do you want to be in a week? In a month? In a year? In five years? Maybe instead of looking at the broader picture, you can break it down into daily tasks that will help you achieve your goal. I found my life began when I stepped outside from my comfort zone. It was unsettling but so worth it.
