Career

Work is an intrinsic part of our lives, isn't it? But when did it become the reason we miss out on the sweet moments with our loved ones? Juggling deadlines while the delicious scent of dinner wafts through the air is a recipe for regret, and that blend of emotional tug-of-war is all too common. It's easy to let work creep into every corner of our lives, drowning out laughter and connection with the ping of a notification.

What does work mean to you? Is it merely a paycheck or a passion that fuels your fire? For many, including myself, the answer once lay somewhere in the middle. Glancing at the clock while receiving family hugs should be a crime against joy, yet there I was—clocking in with a frown, missing moments that can't be rewinded. It’s depressing really!

This hustle-and-bustle culture can push our health aside, whispering false promises that productivity trumps well-being. The relationship between career demands and our health is like a delicate dance—too much emphasis on one side, and we trip over our feet into the abyss of burnout and stress.

Integrating holistic health practices into your career not only enhances your overall well-being but can also boost productivity and creativity. Simple adjustments, like incorporating mindfulness into your daily routine, taking regular breaks, and maintaining a balanced diet, can make a significant difference. Eating gluten-free, for instance, can alleviate symptoms for those struggling with autoimmune diseases, leading to clearer thinking and a more energetic approach to work.

Moreover, establishing a healthy work-life balance is crucial. It's essential to set boundaries that protect your personal time, enabling you to recharge physically and mentally. When your health is prioritized, you'll find you can approach your career with renewed enthusiasm and vitality.

As we navigate this bustling world, let’s pause to reflect. Our work can bring us fulfillment, but there’s magic in finding a balance where our bodies and minds are respected. Your health and happiness should lead the way, guiding your career choices as sweetly as a playful breeze. Nurturing both aspects allows for a harmonious relationship where neither work nor wellness suffers. Commit to being present not just for deadlines but for dinner with family. Because at the end of the day, it’s those cherished moments that truly matter.

So, what does work mean to you? Is it just a paycheck, or does it ignite a spark within? For me, being a Health Coach lights me up like a Christmas tree! The joy of chatting about health, well-being, and personal aspirations is a dynamic dance that feeds my soul.

Remember, your career is just one part of who you are. By nurturing your health, you empower yourself to face challenges with resilience and grace. Embrace the journey of balancing both aspects, and watch as they positively influence each other, paving the way for a fulfilling, vibrant life.

Your health journey is quintessential, and I’m here to help you navigate it. Imagine a conversation where your feelings about health today transform into a vision for a brighter, healthier future. You are the star of this journey, shining brightly in your life!

Facebook Support Group

A Facebook group set up to support those living with Autoimmune Diseases or are living gluten-free, dairy-free life.

Emma Alexander-Cook

My name's Emma. I've been living gluten-free for over 25 years, and I've been dairy-free for over five years.

Health and Auto-immune Diseases

I have auto-immune diseases and expected to be on medicine for the rest of my life, but I didn't want to live like that. My rheumatology Doctor was so supportive of the change I wanted to make, and with their help, I now manage my auto-immune diseases by being strict with my diet.

It can be quite frightening when you first find out you have to change the way you eat but for some of us' Food is our medicine.'

I have several websites, write blogs, and I'm currently in the process of writing a book.

I trained to be Holistic Health Coach, Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher and Certified Gluten Free Practitioner in order to heal myself, my family and others who find themselves on the same journey as myself.

Photography

Our love for photography started on our travels. We wanted to capture images of the areas we travelled to both for our own records and for our family back at home. Some of these images were reproduced as watercolours. Our favourite images we display at home and friends often asked where we had purchased the pictures! Now you can purchase them online directly from us.

Coaching and Consultancy

Previously an IT Manager my skill set has come in very handy as I am both a Health Coach and also offer consultancy for small business starts up and fellow Health Coaches. This has included building websites and online profiles.

Our Family

Family is everything to me! We have a family of four boys where the age difference between the youngest and the eldest is 18 years. Two of our sons are also Gluten Free and Dairy Free. Emma is a Health Coach who specialises in helping individuals and families achieve their health and wellness goals. Ian runs his own business which began developing a Race Timer for diecast model cars.
