Water is life, and clean water means health
Three months ago, I was addicted to caffeine. It would take me several coffees in the morning before I could function or felt awake and several more to get myself through a day. I didn’t sleep well, and I knew what the problem was but couldn’t bring myself to break the habit. Then one day, I just decided. I put a glass of water in the fridge with some berries in it and vowed I would drink that in the morning before I drank my coffee. I felt so alert that I did the same for a week. The next week it became two glasses, and today I drink coffee mid-morning if I want to rather than because I need to. Water is life; it gives us energy and nourishes our body. We are lucky that we have clean water where we live, and it’s so vital that we ensure everyone in the world is as fortunate. There are many charities which help provide water and sanitation to those who need it. Next time you are stuck for a gift for someone who has everything then consider giving the gift of helping others less fortunate.
