Happiness Is When
Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.
Mahatma Gandhi.
I’m not always happy, and when I’m not it’s because usually I’m not talking honestly, I’m not thinking clearly, and I’m not acting in a way that feels right for me.
Often we feel stuck. We feel unhappy. It can be hard to think or even face why we feel this way. Sometimes it’s good to talk about how your feeling to someone else. If you don’t feel you can then you could try what I did. After a particular event I started a journal. I didn’t write just about how I negatively felt. That was one thing I tried to avoid going into depth with to begin with. I wrote about my day, what had happened, what I had eaten, who I had seen, what I had achieved. I wrote about how I wanted the next day to look, what I wanted to achieve that following day. I wrote about what I was grateful for. What I could do for fun and relaxation. I wrote about how I could nourish my body and soul. The journal changed me. The journal changed. The goals changed, as some were achieved others were added and it became a friend I could trust and write down my thoughts in. The journal showed me what I wanted to not do with my life, and what I did want to do. It was the courageous steps I needed to take, written down every day. You can purchase daily journals in bookshops or online, or subscribe to an online journal. I’m currently preparing my own daily journal which I had used for myself and which I now hope to sell online to others!
If you find yourself feeling cross or unhappy. Ask yourself what are you thinking, what are you saying, what are you doing, what do you need from others around you?
