Learning to love and respect your body
Learning to love and respect your body for the powerful vehicle that it is has more benefits than you know!
Exercise is a celebration of what our bodies can achieve.
For years I felt that exercise was a punishment for what I ate. I’ve never really enjoyed the type of exercise that is traditionally taught in schools. It took me years to appreciate that I do love to exercise, but not the school team sports that were thrust upon me when I was young.
When I learnt to love and respect my body, I realised how powerful it is and how many benefits it brings us.
I feel that we need to shift our mindset in society and cultivate an overall more healthy relationship with food and exercise.
You are allowed to enjoy food.
You are allowed to enjoy exercise.
You are allowed to feel good in your body.
Yet we have become accustomed to these images of an unsustainable lifestyle where the goal has shifted from health and happiness to one of restriction and deprivation.
I often check my attitude towards the food I eat and the exercise I do. If something doesn’t serve me at the time, then I change what I am doing. My body is an amazing piece of equipment and I want to keep it healthy.
As a Health Coach, I discuss with clients their relationship and attitude towards the food they eat and the exercise they do.
I find that the key to sustainable change lies in the mindset beneath it!
