Dairy Free Chocolate Easter Eggs

Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free

Gluten Free Dairy Free Chocolate Easter Egg

During Covid, I rediscovered the joy of making my own Easter eggs. Living in Hong Kong, finding vegan chocolate, let alone Easter eggs, was no easy feat, and I couldn’t let my children miss out on this delightful tradition! Crafting your own chocolate Easter egg is not only a fun and rewarding experience, but it also allows you to customise your egg with your favourite gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan flavours and decorations. Each year, my children eagerly ask if I’ll be whipping up our homemade Easter eggs again! Perhaps it’s time to establish a new family tradition where we each create a special Easter egg for one another!

This isn't quite a recipe but a delightful guide to creating your own gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan Easter Eggs!

Gather your ingredients, including your favourite chocolate, a mould (I still adore mine from the 1970s!), and any exciting fillings you’d like to incorporate, such as nuts or candy.

You can whip up your chocolate using our online recipe or melt your preferred chocolate in a double boiler or microwave.

Easter Egg with Dried Strawberries

Once melted, pour the chocolate into the mould, ensuring you coat the entire surface. Then, pop the mould into the fridge or freezer to set. You may want to repeat this process to build those layers for a perfect egg!

You can add your chosen fillings, nuts, candy, or other delicious treats when the chocolate has hardened. If you wish to have them attached to the inside of the shell like in this picture, melt some more chocolate to seal your fillings before placing them. This can be a delightful surprise to the recipient and can look quite beautiful.

This stage is a fab moment to get creative with decorations: think sprinkles or colourful chocolate drizzle!

After decorating your masterpiece, return the mould to the fridge or freezer to set it completely.

Once fully set, carefully remove your chocolate egg from the mould and seal the edges if you wish, though I prefer to wrap it in foil or decorative paper and ribbon. Voila!

Your homemade gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan chocolate Easter egg is now ready to be savoured or gifted to friends and family.

It is a tasty treat and a fantastic way to showcase your creativity and culinary flair, making each egg uniquely special for the recipient!

My name's Emma. I've been living gluten-free for over 25 years, and I've been dairy-free for over five years.

Health and Auto-immune Diseases

I have auto-immune diseases and expected to be on medicine for the rest of my life, but I didn't want to live like that. My rheumatology Doctor was so supportive of the change I wanted to make, and with their help, I now manage my auto-immune diseases by being strict with my diet.

It can be quite frightening when you first find out you have to change the way you eat but for some of us' Food is our medicine.'

I have several websites, write blogs, and I'm currently in the process of writing a book.

I trained to be Holistic Health Coach, Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher and Certified Gluten Free Practitioner in order to heal myself, my family and others who find themselves on the same journey as myself.

Photography

Our love for photography started on our travels. We wanted to capture images of the areas we travelled to both for our own records and for our family back at home. Some of these images were reproduced as watercolours. Our favourite images we display at home and friends often asked where we had purchased the pictures! Now you can purchase them online directly from us.
